Updates

I have just updated the research plan to include collaborating closely with ongoing World Health Organization projects focusing on treatment of hypertension and prevention of stroke and heart attack here in Mongolia.

I have been preparing for more than one year, with activities that go back to last summer, and I am very excited to be at this stage in the research.

I would like to thank all of my supporters again for all of your help, advice and encouragement. This has already been a tremendously enjoyable experience with your support. Thank you.
Research

The research I am conducting focuses on
Mindfulness Meditation and Health in Mongolia, which includes developing a deeper understanding of mindfulness meditation, how it is transforming the health, community and spiritual landscape of post-communist Mongolia and what that means for the future.

My time in Mongolia
has given me incredible field experiences in the area of community health and put me in an unique position to be able to conduct this research project and work with incredible research partners.

The findings and concluding presentation from this study will bring together key organizations and community members, encourage dialogue and cooperation, and integrate valuable information for future generations. It will provide an incredible opportunity for Mongolians and Americans to work together, learn from one another and share our resources.
Background

I have included a more detailed description of this research, as well as some personal background, which you can read here. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to conduct this research while I work part-time with the World Health Organization apply and I look forward to sharing more updates here.

Right now I am networking with several organizations here in Mongolia, including local, national and international health organizations as well as individuals within the spiritual and educational community as well.

There is a tremendous amount of research literature out there, which I am also beginning to work through right now. This also includes recent articles and news releases about mindfulness meditation around the world.
